Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware design and testing with a focus on complex embedded and connectivity systems
  • Expertise in high-performance computer system design, including computer system architecture, high-speed digital interfaces (e.g., PCIe, USB, Ethernet) power supply design and distribution
  • Audio interface integration (e.g., I2S, analogy digital codec)
  • Strong proficiency in PCB design including schematics capture and layout using industry-standard tools such as Mentor Graphics, Altium, Eagle, or KiCad
  • Hands-on Experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators
  • Solid Knowledge of embedded systems and processor architectures (ARM-based systems, etc.)
  • Familiarity with wireless connectivity protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, BLE, NFC, UWB) and best practice for coexistence and de-sense mitigation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex hardware and system issues
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs to ensure reliable and high-performance hardware designs
  • Design and develop complex multi-layer PCB layouts for high-density designs, with a focus on signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design specifications and ensure they align with system requirements
  • Perform signal and power integrity analysis, including grounding, trace routing, and impedance control
  • Work closely with external manufacturers to ensure that designs are optimized for fabrication, assembly, and cost-efficiency
  • Develop test strategies and validation methods to ensure design reliability and performance of hardware designs
  • Manage design revisions and perform continuous improvements on existing designs
  • Provide technical support during prototype builds and assist in troubleshooting design-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including safety and regulatory requirements
  • Support selection and provide direction to CMs throughout the development process
  • Report to senior leaders on project status, roadblocks, and escalation requests.
