Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED – required
  • Attended approved Radiology Program – required
  • ARRT (RT) – Required
  • (Mammo)(M) – Required
  • Active BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
  • 1-2 years of office experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer)
  • Excellent telephone skills and technique
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to use basic office equipment (i.e. computer, copier, fax, multi-line telephone system)
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to work in busy, fast pace environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Performs all Mammographic imaging studies.
  • Properly identifies patients, reviews order and selects appropriate protocol in order to maximize quality and safe patient care.
  • Produce high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
  • Receive patients, explains procedures and answers all patient questions and concerns pertaining to the exam.
  • To be able to perform a variety of special imaging examinations including Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) using established or dictated protocols, equipment and perform as needed.
  • Accurately performs documentation in all computer systems applicable to Breast Imaging (HIS, RIS, PACS, MagView).
  • Operates imaging and other related equipment according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Monitors and assists patients, before during and after examinations.
  • Recognize patient discomfort or medical problem and take appropriate actions if needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintain patient, hospital and employee confidentiality.
  • To be able to provide quality care to patients of varying categories, i.e., Wheelchair bound, cognitive impaired.
  • Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients we serve in the office.
  • To perform quality control, assist with and maintain pertinent local, state and federal records as applicable to different sections as well as inspections, i.e., ACR and MQSA.
