Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5 – 7 Years Payroll Tax Experience
- Recent W2/W2C year end experience including 3rd party vendors
- Client facing interaction experience
- Knowledge of payroll
- Tax analyst experience including multistate, localities and reciprocity
- Strong attention to detail and execution
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Strong business acumen, e.g. ability to interpret and apply financial data/information to business decisions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong business partnering skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing workload to complete multiple tasks and meet aggressive deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a member of a team
- Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, and Excel
Responsibilities
- Review and resolve payroll tax error reports
- Ability to analyze and calculate retroactive tax, gross to net calculations including tax withholding
- Process Improvement recommendations and implementations
- Process W-2 Corrections and Reissues in accordance with IRS Regs
- Review of payroll tax updates for compliance changes
- Provide client support for escalated tax issues
- Resolve employee tax data issues including tax data integrity assurance activities
- Coordinate load of tax data by mechanical input feeds – for implementation mapping
- Process mass tax transactions (EIB)
- Provide problem (SR) resolution support for tax related issues
- Provide support for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Validation and balancing of tax data
- Resolve any rejects related to tax fallout
- Maintain employee tax records
- All W2 & W2C processing of US and all territories
- Employee tax data integrity
- Accountable for partnering with the internal and external teams to deliver client service with quality
- Record, classify, summarize domestic tax code/law
- Support meeting/exceeding RSL’s and KPI’s and other performance quality objectives
- Oversee tax set up shared services
- Accountable for adherence to the various internal and external audits requirements
- Assist within the team in a multi-client, multi-shore environment
- Handles service escalations from internal and external clients
- Proactively looks for resolution of potential service delivery issues
- Provides reports to clients and account team as required
- Manages special projects required or need to support client ongoing delivery
- Leads adherence to standard practices and client contractual commitments
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday preferred but not required
- Case management tool (HRX, Siebel, SNOW) experience preferred
