Senior Test Engineer – Single Photon Detectors

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field with 5+ years experience in a hardware test environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to independently identify and correct testing issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
• Demonstrated organizational skill, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
• Experience with electrical and/or radio-frequency test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, source-meter units, arbitrary waveform generators, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning and execution of high throughput cryogenic testing of single photon detectors.
• Collaborate closely with design and fabrication engineers to understanding near- and long-term learning and development goals.
• Prioritize and optimize in-house testing efforts based on an understanding of the detector R&D roadmap and measurement capabilities of our testing tools.
• Develop test plans to validate the performance of single photon detectors, balancing the need for operational efficiency, fast learning cycles, and maximal learning.
• Manage testing schedules for multiple cryogenic test stations to optimize throughput.
• Analyze test data to ensure data quality and alignment with testing goals.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of test procedures, observations, and results.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of test infrastructure and workflows, with opportunities to expand into data analysis, automation, and hardware development.
• Engage in laboratory debug process when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an industry test and measurement setting.
• Experience with project leadership.
