Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; with 7+ years of industry experience
- Well-developed experience analyzing and designing mechanical systems, assemblies and components for high-volume manufacture in a hardware product development company
- Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and mentoring direct reports
- Expert knowledge of either: thermal analysis (CFD/FEA), structural analysis (static/dynamic)
- Strong mechanical design experience across multiple shipping products
- Hands-on experience in model validation/correlation
- Experience defining products and engineering requirements, and implementing FMEA principles
- Experience in batteries, energy storage, or other high power products is a plus
- Strong technical communication skills, especially with external parties and across internal functional teams
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a world-class team of mechanical architects, thermal engineers, and structural engineers
- Lead the mechanical architecture, and structural/fluid/thermal analysis and optimization of Form Energy’s iron-air battery
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of battery, electrical, chemical, and systems engineers to develop, model, and optimize system designs for performance, cost, and reliability throughout the full development cycle

- Experience in batteries, energy storage, or other high power products is a plus
