Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a cost engineering role
- Deep understanding of cost engineering principles and methodologies specific to electromechanical systems
- Proven ability to design, implement, and improve cost engineering processes
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for both mechanical and electronic components
- Strong ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions
- Demonstrated understanding of financial principles and cost management techniques
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates for electromechanical product designs, including custom mechanical components, electronic components (PCBs, sensors, etc.), wiring harnesses, and assembly
- Utilize PLM, CAD programs to analyze design specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing processes specific to electromechanical systems to determine cost drivers
- Design, develop, and implement standardized cost engineering processes and methodologies for electromechanical products
- Partner with Finance to create and maintain cost estimation templates, tools, and databases
- Establish best practices for cost data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Support data-driven make v. buy decisions
