Head of Delivery – Fusion System

Requirements

• Experience owning the delivery of a major hardware system that requires complex facilities and thousands of interdependencies
• Ability to influence and program manage engineers and scientists across a range of extremely technical disciplines
• A history of creating processes and programs that deliver projects on time and budget

Responsibilities

• Ensure on time and on budget delivery of our fusion demonstration system
• Own the delivery schedule and program for the entire system, including the project budget
• Align all science and engineering departments around the project timelines and ensure the successful build and integration of their systems
• Build and oversee a team that may include: system integration, procurement, production engineering, and program management
• Own relationships with EPCs and vendors that will contribute to the construction of our fusion demonstration system
• Develop a program that includes: risk analysis, risk management, fault tolerance, and procurement for a system that has thousands of components

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering first-of-a-kind systems
• Experience working in a startup and developing the Delivery function while delivering the project
• Experience working in industries such as: fusion, energy, aerospace, chemicals
• Experience working closely with PhD scientists and R&D technology organizations
