Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents
  • An associate degree in any field
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Process, review and issue hardship permit applications, forms and other documents to determine they meet criteria set by policies, rules and procedures
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of laws, rules and procedures that relate to convictions, suspensions, appealed convictions, etc.
  • Process reinstatements for driving privileges
  • Prepare correspondences that explain the laws and rules related to suspensions and reinstatements of driving privileges
  • Review implied consent forms to ensure minimum requirements are met
  • Process all ignition interlock device (IID) documents, install, deinstall, reporting, exception and exemptions
  • Review suspension notices, convictions, judgments, vacates and driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) diversion agreements to implement for driving privileges
  • Answer inquiries from courts, attorneys, law enforcement, IID providers, internal customers and other groups of people reaching out for more information
  • Work with other state licensing agencies to record and report driving history
  • Work is performed in an office environment working from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a high production environment
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure particularly when dealing with upset or angry customers over the phone
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience answering inquiries in writing and over the phone regarding explaining rules, processes and procedures
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with co-workers with strong customer service skills
