Requirements

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within a church or nonprofit setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, email, and church management software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with church staff, members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality with church records and sensitive information.
  • Willingness to collaborate and contribute to a positive church environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform secretarial services such as typing, filing, mailing, and collating of minutes, correspondence, and various church lists.
  • Prepare and publish the weekly worship bulletin.
  • Prepare Council packets in advance of monthly meetings.
  • Maintain church membership records.
  • Perform data entry of church giving and print statements quarterly.
  • Maintain a master church schedule of events and activities.
  • Distribute incoming mail into appropriate mailboxes.
  • Perform receptionist tasks of answering phones and greeting guests while working in church office.
  • Make contact with guest pastors and provide worship service information, and coordinate worship bulletin arrangements.
  • Maintain office equipment and order supplies.
  • Keep bulletin board by office window organized.
  • Maintain church answering machine, take messages.
  • Make monthly schedules for organists and sound/video people.
