Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Experience with product development and design of electrical components
- Experience with quality tools including FMEA, APQP & PPAP
- Experience with NPI Issue resolution process
- PCB design/layout experience or electronics experience is a plus
- CAD/3D modeling
- Experience with circuit and system simulation and analysis tools is a plus
Responsibilities
- Work with the machine business division and drivetrain system engineering groups to establish the application architecture and electrical requirements for power electronics components/systems
- Work on power conversion NPI & NTI machine/product programs
- Detailed collaboration with the Cat India team for electrical design and the release of circuit schematics and component prints and 3D models
- Play an active role in supplier selection and development of potential suppliers for the electrical designs
- Identify and work with other Caterpillar SMEs on aspects of the design in which the team does not have the expertise to complete on their own
- Stay up to date with the latest advances in power electronics technologies and solutions
- Perform complete requirements generation, component design, simulation, validation and production development for new power inverters and converters
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with circuit and system simulation and analysis tools is a plus
- PCB design/layout experience or electronics experience is a plus
