Requirements

  • B.A, in Industrial Design, Product Design or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in Product Design
  • Proficiency in Rhino, SolidWorks, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Creating sketches, renderings, fabrication drawings, and 3D models as necessary to bring designs to full scale realization.
  • Providing an accurate development schedule and working within set project time constraints.
  • Working closely with designers to develop project details to production details and managing and mentoring junior staff.
  • Assisting the Design Director by managing private label and licensing projects; including production and oversight of manufacturers and workrooms.
  • Tracking and recording product status; drawing approvals and production goals.
  • The design scope includes furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, rugs, wall coverings, and other interior and architectural features.
  • Various other responsibilities to be outlined throughout the course of your development.
  • Identify opportunities to create and display Workshop Collections product line.
  • Maintain industry knowledge and trends in furniture, materials, lighting, and interior design.
  • Lead concept development of products, furniture, and lighting with Design Director.
  • Select inspiration images and create mood and concept boards.
  • Develop and generate sketches/renderings/models.
  • Partner with Project Team to create custom pieces that fit within project concept/aesthetic.
  • Select finishes and materials for custom products, furniture, and lighting.
  • Serve as liaison with manufacturer to develop independent Workshop Collections product line.
  • Produce documentation for custom products, furniture, and lighting.
  • Acquire samples or generate prototypes as needed.
  • Review manufacturer shop drawings, comment, and approve as required.
  • Coordinate with vendors/consultants/manufacturers.
  • Liaise with Interior Designer (residential) or client representative/purchasing manager (commercial) for purchase, manufacture, and delivery of products.
  • Trouble shoot issues with manufacturer after production if required.
