Requirements
- Deep understanding of mechanics of materials, statics, and dynamics
- Ability to work independently and with others on problems that are unusual or difficult
- Ability to come up with practical and theoretically sound solutions to problems never encountered before
- Ability to concisely convey technical communication
- Understanding of theory in a range of mechanical engineering subjects, including heat transfer, vibrations, controls, and fluid dynamics
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Develop strength and durability FE models for analysis and optimization of revolutionary vehicle architectures in collaboration with a small team of multi-disciplinary engineers
- Challenge established traditional CAE methods and process to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Use CAE tools to optimize performance for BIW, closures, chassis, and other sub-systems
- Support world-class engineering teams with design direction based on your analyses
- Perform analysis for feasibility for manufacturing, assembly and service processes
- Quickly learn the tools necessary to execute, and modify or create new tools as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis, Fatigue Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics and Numerical Methods within a product development environment preferred
- Understanding of Statistics and optimization techniques preferred
- Knowledge of Python and Linux preferred
- Experience in 3D CAD modeling – CATIA v5/v6 preferred
