Requirements
- Actively pursuing a Bachelors in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field of study
- Ability to work in Chicago, Illinois
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours, between 6/2/2025 – 08/08/2025
Responsibilities
- Contact carrier to obtain load status and driver information
- Updating various systems with information obtained from the carrier
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers, shippers and receivers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses.
- Respond to carrier bids and negotiate to a preset target
- Learn about Marketplace Dynamics and use that knowledge to leverage advantageous rates from our carriers
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient computer skills including e-mail, routine database activity, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
- Basic Math – Includes aptitude to learn how to calculate mileage as it relates to the passage of time
- Service Orientation – Commits to and enjoys providing exceptional service to internal and external customers
- Keen interest in growing a career in logistics and transportation as demonstrated by course work, written work, research, internships, etc.
- Detailed and multi-task oriented
- Exceptional interpersonal communications; demonstrated ability to develop rapport and garner trust with peers and customers
- Can demonstrate an aptitude to manage difficult situations objectively and rationally
