Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological sciences, cell biology, biological engineering, or related field
- Strong experience in aquatic genetic resources, cell biology, and technology development
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Responsibilities
- Independent research and process development for germplasm cryopreservation, cell cultures, reproductive physiology of aquatic species, or algae
- Collaboration with engineers and makers to produce hardware devices for germplasm preservation
- Close coordination for repository development with national stock centers that provide aquatic animals for biomedical research
- Development of manuscripts and presentations to disseminate information
- Animal husbandry of aquatic biomedical model organisms
- Coordination of outreach efforts for community development
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with sterile culture, microbiology, or reproductive biology
- Experience with CAD, 3-D printing, and open hardware
- Previous supervision of undergraduate and graduate students
- Experience in tinkering with electronics, microprocessors, and microcontrollers
