Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required; or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Certificate of completion from a paralegal training program, American Bar Association (ABA) approval preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive IP Litigation experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Serve as paralegal on complex litigation cases, assisting in trial preparation and execution, including organizing trial binders, managing evidence, coordinating logistics, and providing in-court support.
- Work with litigation databases, conducting searches, loading transcripts, and coding documents.
- Support depositions by preparing exhibits, managing transcripts, and coordinating with witnesses and attorneys.
- Coordinate and manage large-scale document collection and production, implementing systems for efficient document organization and retrieval.
- Draft, review, and analyze routine legal documents, conduct legal research, and collaborate with the docketing team to update and ensure accuracy of litigation deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned documents, adhering to filing requirements of specific courts and administrative agencies.
- Cite check large briefs according to the Bluebook without supervision and within tight deadlines.
- Organize, chronologize, categorize, and index documents, conduct PACER research, and run PACER reports.
- Communicate with internal team members and external vendors to support discovery, trial, and arbitrations.
- Copy and code documents in large document production performed inside or outside the office and electronically distribute all case-related documents to attorneys and staff, ensuring they are saved in the firm’s document management system ‘iManage’.
- Navigate electronic court systems, including the U.S. District Court and the International Trade Commission (ITC), ensuring compliance with local rules and procedures.
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceedings, including preparing and filing petitions, managing discovery, and coordinating with technical experts.
- Assist in the management and review of source code in intellectual property litigation, including organizing, indexing, and maintaining source code repositories.
- Receive and follow complex instructions, monitor and meet deadlines, and establish priorities while working on multiple projects concurrently.
