Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering field or 5+ years’ experience as an outstanding mechanic in pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to quickly research and develop expertise on any equipment.
  • Good knowledge and experience in facilities and utilities (compressed air, HVAC, purified water, etc.) and mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple job effectives, and to handle detailed and broad range projects. Must be diligent and able to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient Computer Skills: Presentation Tools, Scheduling Tools, Typing, Microsoft Office Tools.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving the Predictive Maintenance Strategy as defined in Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Conduct Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) for Process Equipment and eliminate risk for unplanned equipment breakdowns by systematically eliminating risk in equipment PM plans.
  • Develops and provides hands-on technical training for maintenance lead and mechanics on new and existing systems to assess and build technical knowledge within the maintenance organization.
  • Perform systematic review of Corrective Work Orders for critical process equipment. Identify and correct gaps in the equipment preventive maintenance program and associated SOP and instructions.
  • Works with Project Engineering, to ensure accurate spare parts selection, reliability, and maintainability of new and modified equipment installations.
  • Works with the Lead Maintenance Technicians and the Project Engineers to make ongoing improvements to equipment and utilities.
  • Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure alignment with functional specifications.
  • Systematically defines and develops improved preventive maintenance tasks including the effective utilization of predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Maintenance lead for identifying critical spare parts for MRO for new equipment.
  • Strategically works with process and project engineering to identify and eliminate OEE losses due to equipment downtime or unplanned failures.
  • Supports the completion of preventive maintenance swiftly and follows preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Responds to production needs, using good judgment, and makes the appropriate repairs.
  • Ensure that work is detailed through maintenance work orders and change controls.
  • Ensure that documents are completed appropriately and retained in the file.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a timely and cost-effective manner in compliance with codes, cGMP, and industry good practices.
  • Immediately reports deviations related to product or equipment that could compromise product quality or safety. Maintains a safe work environment by following all Health & Safety policies and procedures; immediately reports potential unsafe conditions to supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience as an outstanding mechanic in pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing operations.
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Training
  • Predictive Maintenance
  • Development of SOPs and Maintenance Plan aligning with applicable codes, cGMP, and industry good practices.
  • Vibration Analysis, Ultrasonic Testing, Laser Alignment, Mechanical Thermography.
