Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, international trade, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or trade compliance within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- In-depth knowledge of GDP guidelines and experience in implementing GDP compliance programs.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations and experience in managing global logistics operations.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software and systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic logistics plans to support the company’s growth and operational efficiency. Oversee the end-to-end supply chain, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, including import/export laws, customs regulations, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain comprehensive trade compliance programs and policies.
- Ensure that all logistics operations adhere to GDP guidelines, maintaining the quality and integrity of pharmaceutical products throughout the distribution process. Implement and monitor GDP compliance programs and conduct regular audits.
- Establish and maintain relationships with logistics providers, transportation companies, and other third-party vendors. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Identify potential risks in the logistics and trade compliance processes and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement robust risk management practices to safeguard the supply chain.
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics and trade compliance professionals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development within the team.
- Develop and manage the logistics and trade compliance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of service.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, tax/finance, and legal departments to ensure alignment and compliance across the organization.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics and trade compliance operations. Regularly review and analyze performance data to drive continuous improvement.
