Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, business, economics or related field
- advanced degree, certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), holder of Masters Certificate in Project Management, or the like preferred
- Primavera (P6) and SAP proficiency is needed
- Seven years of experience in project management, finance, and related subject matter
- Proficiency in Primavera (P6) functionality, SAP financial and project systems, and excel needed
- strong quantitative skills with ability to produce spreadsheets, data base queries, and other such analytical tools
- Must be self-directed and demonstrate initiative
- Strong written and verbal skills required
Responsibilities
- Explains theoretical standards into operational usefulness. This includes compliance to standards and identification of root causes for non-compliance.
- Proactively identifies and solves complex issues with projects in need of recovery.
- Identifies process issues and works closely with project management process and standards to identify possible improvements
- Measures compliance to project management standards and uses measurements to identify project issues, improvements, and recovery tactics.
- Identifies and assists in competency development opportunities
- Develops innovative solutions to project management and project controls through the use of new or enhanced tools (i.e. Primavera, excel, SAP)
- Communicates effectively to project teams and senior management on problems or needs. May be required to present information regarding ideas and anticipates objections to gain understanding on correct course of action
- Leads others to assess project risk realistically and plan appropriate means to mitigate, eliminate or at times accept such risks.
- Builds rapport, actively listens, sharing, understand, and makes connections to facilitate information sharing and approachability. Being approachable means putting others at ease so that they can succeed.
- Anticipates project manager and stakeholder needs, assess requirements and identifies new solutions.
