Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or related field
- Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role
- Three (3) years of experience valuing trading inventory where prices, model inputs and valuation adjustments are verified and recalibrated to external prices
- Experience working with nuances of accounting for financial products, such as bonds, loans and CDS, and corresponding accounting concepts, such as accrual accounting and classification of reserves
- Experience ensuring compliance with FAS157, FAS161 and FVO disclosures applying understanding of financial disclosures on Bond, loan and Derivative products
- Experience ensuring accurate reporting of the metrics relevant to Credit Trading desk leveraging understanding of the Volcker federal rule
- Understanding and questioning Trading desk strategies
- Analyzing impact to controllers on new product launches
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze credit default swaps (CDS), exotic options, and bond portfolios for the credit desk, for the U.S. desk
- Prepare and review daily profit and loss (P&L) and analysis through structured reconciliation between front and back-end systems versus trader estimates
- Compile the trading risk and market moves and provide required commentary
- Undertake price verification for trading inventory, which includes verifying prices, model inputs, and valuation adjustments, and recalibrating to external prices
- Report and validate trading desk balance sheets
- Review Volcker and capital management for the desk
- Perform analysis for new product launches, provide product control related requirements, and ensure these are complied with and delivered
