Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent: General Studies
  • Graduate – Radiology Program
  • Certification – Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) – Within 60 days of hire or transfer
  • Radiologic Technologist (RT) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Responsibilities

  • Perform and be competent in Radiology under the direction of the Radiologist
  • Independently acquire the proper exam for the Radiologist’s interpretation
  • Operate all radiological equipment in the proper setting
  • Work with patients in age group specific environments: pediatric, geriatric, febrile, in a critical acute care setting
  • Perform fluoroscopy examinations in the department and use the c-arm in operating room setting as well as portable exams throughout the hospital
  • Meet the needs of outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department patients
  • Cover all areas of imaging as assigned
  • Responsible for exam room presentation, patient transportation, entering exams into the Radiology Information System, scheduling radiology exams, educating patients on exam prep instructions, obtaining correct orders and paperwork for records, billing, and communicating with Medical Staff as requested
  • Obtain and maintain the knowledge needed for the PACS
  • Report equipment malfunctions/failures to their immediate Supervisor, Maintenance staff, or Bio-med service as appropriate
  • Follow all policies and procedures as set by the Medical Imaging Department, the facility and the organization
  • Participate in upkeep of department, i.e., cleanliness of work area, preventive maintenance, stocking of supplies, reports all malfunctioning equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Radiographer Experience
  • Radiologic Technologist (RT) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
