Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge in general compensation theory and practices, including job analysis, design, evaluation and salary administration.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in human resources subject areas, e.g., recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, organizational change, organization design and legal compliance.
  • An understanding in statistical concepts and analysis used in making compensation decisions and competitor analysis.
  • Knowledge of insurance operations, including revenue, expense, reserving and organizational characteristics a plus.
  • Able to conceptualize a business problem, define relevant issues, determine a methodology for exploring the problem, define alternatives and develop recommendations.
  • Project management and process improvement skills.
  • Developed verbal and written communication.
  • Good decision-making skills as well as possesses analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to implementation, analysis and administration of compensation programs for various associate groups, including exempt, non-exempt and management.
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with peers, Human Resources (HR) partners and business unit leaders.
  • Takes direction from the compensation consultant to review job evaluation requests and take action to market match, slot and price each role.
  • Assists in all phases of the survey process, including participation in all surveys and analysis of the returned survey data.
  • Conducts data analysis, modeling and reporting with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Implements and maintains compensation systems, including system testing and data integrity audits.
  • Maintains compliance with all state and federal employee relations/compensation statutes and legislation.
  • Serves, as required, on project teams and manages projects with direction.
  • Makes process improvement recommendations to improve efficiencies and increase customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate studies in areas such as business administration, human resource management, psychology or related areas preferred.
  • Courses toward Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred.
  • Typically, two or more years of related experience in compensation-related field.
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • Prefer business/insurance experience as well.
