Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend engineering
- 2+ years leading engineering teams
- Hands-on experience with one or more large-scale databases (CockroachDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or similar)
- Strong track record of hiring, onboarding, and mentoring Senior Engineers
- Execution-driven, with a proven ability to deliver large-scale distributed storage solutions in fast-moving environments
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on scaling and optimizing distributed databases and abstractions
- Drive architectural decisions for high-performance, fault-tolerant data abstractions built using NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra) and caching solutions (Redis or Memcached)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with platform, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure seamless data access, consistency, and reliability
- Bring expertise in building and operating high scale systems and open source software with a focus on reliability, scalability, efficiency and ease of use
- Build, sustain, and grow a diverse team to address the growing needs of the organization
