Requirements

  • Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Healthcare or related field
  • 12 years recent relevant experience
  • Familiarity with internal and external requirements relating to medical staff
  • Knowledge of medical staff accreditation standards, federal and state regulations governing credentialing and peer review
  • Solid understanding of operations and workflows, and how department’s process/workflow impacts other department operations
  • Demonstrates credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to motivate and engage others
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts and communicate information or issues in a manner that is readily understood by management and employees
  • Ability to build and establish effective working partnership with employees, peers and leaders to achieve business objectives
  • Requires a full understanding of business and financial practices of the group administration, recruiting and retention activities, physician staffing and scheduling, compensation, contract negotiations and strategic growth, and planned activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides development support and execution for the joint-strategic direction and operations of the medical staff
  • Provides oversight of informational and process support that ensures effective development and maintenance of policies, MD scheduling and staffing, compensation and benefits analysis, recruitment and planning coordination, MD onboarding, medical director support, continuing medical education needs and programs and other physician practice matters
  • Responsible for the efficient functioning of department operations which contribute to the mission and goals of the facility
  • Accountable for successfully ensuring compliance and maintenance of the requirements established by the Medical Staff Bylaws and other federal, state, and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies and the evaluation of contracted service/coverage agreements
  • Develops and fosters a solid partnership with medical directors, leaders, work teams and other employees to facilitate and collaborate on initiatives, to resolve operational challenges and to improve processes and provider satisfaction
  • Works with senior leadership to help define, implement, and support short and long-term strategic plans that complement system, operating unit or entity goals and initiatives, including business, operations, and/or organizational priorities.
