Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
- Proven understanding of front-end web development technologies and principles
- Comprehensive knowledge of JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating
- Video playback experience using modern web technologies and APIs
- Understanding of open source principles and patterns as they pertain to collaborative development
- Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Driven and self motivated
- 3 years of experience as a manager of software engineers
- 8 years of experience in software engineering
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and testing at the core of our internal video libraries
- Partner with other engineering teams to craft solutions at scale
- Encourage and drive implementation and utilization of architectural standards
- Promote and support Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban by leading regular ceremonies such as stand-up, retrospectives and sprint planning
- Mentor engineering leaders and their squad members to help them improve their technical ability and build their profile within and outside of the organization
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and articulate technical decisions and outcomes
- Grow an inclusive team culture built around positive intent
