Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in data privacy, with a focus on privacy engineering and/or privacy architecture
  • Proven ability to design, build, and scale large privacy systems end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA, and their application to technology design and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical teams to implement privacy-by-design and default principles in complex systems
  • Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), data anonymization techniques, and secure data management practices
  • Experience applying privacy-by-design principles in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) efforts
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
  • Effective communicator, capable of conveying complex technical principles to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive privacy solutions, developing robust frameworks and strategies to ensure compliance with global data protection regulations
  • Drive initiatives to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices in data privacy within technical teams. Enhance overall privacy awareness and competence across the company, reinforcing the importance of privacy by design in our culture
  • Work closely with Engineering, Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to integrate privacy-by-design principles into product and technology development and business processes
  • Perform comprehensive privacy engineering reviews. This entails evaluating existing and new technical designs, identifying privacy risks and compliance issues, and recommending technical controls or enhancements to ensure privacy-by-design principles are fully integrated

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, CISM) are desirable
