Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program for Respiratory Therapy, Licensed Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing is required.
- Must hold an active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license, or a Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice to conduct the essential duties and responsibilities in accordance with a physician prescription.
- Respiratory Therapists must be registered or certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- All required licensure maintained in good standing with issuing state licensure Board.
Responsibilities
- Provides and operates PAP and BiPAP-S equipment.
- Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
- Prepares and maintains a record for each patient, containing, physician prescriptions, sleep study reviews, identification of contraindications, verification of settings, and equipment checks, in accordance with Apria’s clinical policies.
- Enters accurate data on vendor compliance monitoring websites for certain respiratory equipment.
- Consults with referring physicians regarding patient treatment, medical condition, and plan of care relative to the provision of prescribed medical equipment.
- Adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of related experience is preferred but not required.
